General Summary:The
Welder position is responsible for setting, fitting, and welding various assemblies to be used in the construction of our air handling equipment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:- Maintains a high focus on safety and quality within the department
- Identify work to be performed via MII or SAP work center priority and access unit and assembly drawings
- Reads and interprets blueprints and machine drawings to determine specific welding requirements
- Size up components and verify they are within specified tolerances
- Set up weld equipment for specific task to be performed
- Weld components using proper equipment and techniques
- Grind and finish welds to make aesthetically appealing
- Operate material handling equipment as needed, based on safety guidelines
- Perform daily housekeeping tasks (5S) and preventative maintenance tasks
- High level of focus and concentration level to ensure quality work and to avoid safety hazards
- Other duties, as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:- Between 6-12 months aluminum welding experience, required
- Basic Math & Computer skills, required
- Ability to pass welding test on material in use, required
- Ability to safely operate equipment (welder, torch, plasma cutter, grinder, material handling equipment), required
- Ability to operate basic hand/power tools and read measuring devices
- Ability distinguish the various thickness and types of material
- Strong attention to detail and high focus on safety and quality
- Ability to communicate effectively
Physical Demands:- Must lift up to 50 lbs. on a routine basis
- Stand for a minimum of 8 hours per day
- Continuous lifting, kneeling, pulling, bending, etc.
