Alumni Relations Coordinator (temporary coverage)Reports to: Director of Career AdvancementEmployment Type: Temporary, 40 hours/week (January 2025 - May 2025 - official dates TBD)Location: New York, NY - Hybrid, 3x a week in officeABOUT THE ORGANIZATIONGirls Who Invest (GWI) is a non-profit organization dedicated to transforming the investment management industry by attracting and advancing women investors, change-makers, and leaders. GWI does this through tuition-free education programs for first and second-year college students. Once scholars complete their program, GWI provides career advisory services, community building, and connections for alumni at all stages in their careers, with a focus on long-term professional development, retention, and advancement. We believe, and studies show, that advancing diverse investors brings unique and previously excluded perspectives to the industry and leads to higher performance. To date, GWI has reached more than 2,500 young people in just eight years. We will be launching program components as early as January 2024 through virtual channels to begin training and building community amongst our scholars. Our Online Intensive Program will kick off in January as well and will include hundreds of scholars in a self-guided, virtual environment through the end of August.ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITYThe Alumni Relations Coordinator will report to the Director of Career Advancement and will provide events, administrative, and logistical support executing the alumni relations strategy, particularly in ensuring a smoothly executed Alumni Conference event, our signature alumni event of the year. RequirementsKey Responsibilities
- In coordination with GWI team, plan and execute GWI's annual alumni conference scheduled for February 2025
- Assist the Director of Career Advancement in managing and planning events for the GWI Alumni Council including:
- Regional Events
- Affinity Group & Cohort Touchpoints
- GWI Month of Service planning
- Monthly Council Meetings
- Alumni Slack Community Adoption & Use
- Partner with Director of Career Advancement and Director of Communications to create and streamline alumni communications where appropriate
- Keep alumni event engagement, employment details and statistics up-to-date for reporting purposes for our Board of Directors, Advisory Board, partner firms and other constituents
- Track details and alumni statistics in Salesforce and regularly report on alumni data
- Source and prepare alumni panelists, speakers and attendees at conferences, partner events, programs and various engagements
- Support Director of Career Advancement with the execution of strategic and ad hoc projects as needed
ABOUT THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE:Professional Experience
- Bachelor's degree from accredited 4-year institution preferred.
- 1-3 years of prior professional experience in the non-profit or corporate sectors; experience in Alumni Relations or finance a plus.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills and demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage numerous projects at once as they evolve and change across teams with competing deadlines.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and experience translating complex ideas into clear, easy-to-understand concepts.
- Significant experience with Google Suite, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity working with project management systems, Salesforce or another CRM, and email marketing systems a plus.

COMPENSATION: Current compensation offered: $3,000 per full pay period worked, paid semi-monthly ($6,000 per full month worked).
