Job Summary

The Allen Memorial Art Museum's Communications Manager is seeking a student assistant to work in the office for 6-10 hours each week for the academic year. This position requires keen attention to detail, time management, organization, and problem-solving skills. Candidates should be able to follow instructions closely, work independently, and take the initiative to find solutions when needed.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

* Work with the communications manager on all aspects of the museum's communications materials, marketing, and exhibition design support

* Create content for the museum's website, magazine, bi-monthly e-newsletter, Campus Digest, among others

* Update information and events on websites, email marking, and regional calendars

* Work on proofreading and the production of labels and didactic materials for upcoming exhibitions

* Assist in the organization and inventory of publications and museum store products

Qualifications

Qualifications:

* Previous knowledge of the museum is preferred; therefore, preference will be given to students who have completed Practicum in Museum Education and/or have worked as Gallery Guides at the museum

* Excellent writing and editing skills

* Interest in marketing, communications, media, or design as a career path

* Experience in Adobe InDesign, MailChimp, web CMS platforms, and basic HTML is a plus

* Interest and experience in video creation and social media is a plus
