Patrols district property to protect all students,personnel, and visitors from physical harm and prevent property loss due to theft orvandalism. Patrol assigned District areas and routes for walking and driving.Respond to District crises, including on-site crisis management, and after-hours responses.Responds to emergency safety events.Investigate accidents, incidents, suspicious acts/person(s), allegations of violation of Board Policies,Administrative Rules, and/or illegal activities of District staff and/or students, including assisting District administrators in various areas of confidential information and interacting with AISD Police Officers,Campus Supervisors and legal counsel regarding juvenile offenders, gangs, felonies, health, safety, etc.Collect and preserve evidence for criminal investigations including witness statements and physical evidence.Arrest perpetrators, file appropriate charges, and ensure placement in jail or juvenile detention centers for law violations as necessary.Write effective legal incident reports.Testify in court as needed.Work cooperatively with other police agencies to share information and provide other assistance.Assist in providing traffic control at campus or District events, school closings or openings, or at any other time.Provide protection to or escort District personnel as needed.Operate all equipment including firearms according to established safety procedures.Use sound judgment and effectively communicate with and elicit information from emotionally distraught students, staff, parents, and citizens.Follow District safety protocols and emergency procedures.Compile, maintain, and file all physical and electronic reports, records, and documents required, including affidavits for arrest, incident reports, and activity reports.Inspect facilities including all district buildings and playgrounds.Ensure compliance with all local policies and state and federal statutes including the Educator Code of Ethics.Be available to work overtime as assigned by the Chief or Captain.Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: No supervisory responsibilities
