While Rockland County has plenty to offer, both the mountains and the beach are within a few hours' drive.Create a customer friendly environment utilizing exemplary customer service skills; greet patients upon entry to medical office, obtain all pertinent demographic information from patients and family members; schedule and verify appointments. Maintain an organized and friendly patient reception environment. Assist in creating and maintaining electronic health records. Responsible for registration, verification, collection of co-pays/deductibles, pre-certification or authorization of accounts. Responsible for setting up patient charts within the EMR, pre-registration prior to appointment and ensuring charts are complete with necessary paperwork. Responsible for verifying insurance. Scan and copy pertinent information into patients charts. Performs various secretarial and clerical functions in support of the medical office.QUALIFICATIONSHS diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree preferred. One to two years; experience in a healthcare environment, preferably a medical office or hospital setting. Must have a general understanding of medical office procedures, billing, and insurance carriers. Proficient in Microsoft word, excel, outlook. Experience using an EMR System preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
