APPLICANT MUST HAVE FEDERAL WORK STUDY. This position if for the full academic year and open to all upperclassmen WITH Federal Work-Study designation only.This position is OFF CAMPUS. Applicants must have reliable transportation.Tutors perform one-on-one work with individual students, small group work, or class activities. Tutors collaborate with America Reads/Counts supervisors, teachers, and after-school program coordinators to assess students needs and how to best address them.Qualifications for Position:
- Must have federal work-study eligibility
- Must have dependable transportation to local schools
- Elementary Education major preferred
- Good with children
- Excellent communication skills and teaching ability
Expected Duties and Responsibilities:
- Travel to local schools on a regular basis
- Tutor children in reading and writing
- Work cooperatively with the school administration
