Position Overview
The AmeriCorps Member Experience (ACME) Manager is responsible for coordinating a variety of activities across the site to promote the quality of experience and engagement for AmeriCorps Members -- from their confirmed program acceptance through and beyond their year of service. The ACME Manager serves on an Impact Operations team that coordinates Impact resource management, systems, compliance and administration, while interfacing directly with Corps members and representatives from across the site to ensure an aligned, coherent and immersive AmeriCorps Member experience.
Job Description
City Year Washington, DC is seeking an AmeriCorps Member Learning & Experience Manager (ACM L&E Manager), who is responsible for ensuring all AmeriCorps Members have a positive service experience and develop into leaders for life. Reporting to the AmeriCorps Member Learning & Experience Director (ACM L&E Director), the manager has broad responsibilities to ensure site-wide activities align to support the AmeriCorps Member experience and individual skill development. Additionally, the ACM L&E Manager will be responsible for managing communication with the corps regarding site policies, collecting feedback to assess the quality of the AmeriCorps Member experience, and providing input into site planning activities. The ACM L&E Manager also cultivates and manages external partnerships that support these goals. Finally, the ACM L&E Manager will support site wide learning priorities including the planning and implementation of site community days (professional development) with the ACM L&E Director as well as providing career development opportunities and coaching to members. This position will collaborate cross departmentally with directors and managers to ensure our first and second year AmeriCorps members are set up for success.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
AmeriCorps Member Leadership, Appreciation & Events
* Own the planning and execution of AmeriCorps Member recognition and appreciation activities, support with planning of other site wide initiatives and activities including site community days focused on corps members including event logistics
* Support site wide corps member leadership development opportunities including Corps & Deans Council, Coordinator Roles and cross departmental opportunities in coordination with the Impact Leadership Team and ACM L&E Director
* Collaborate with AmeriCorps Member Learning & Experience Director to schedule LACY opportunities to meet corps members needs and build relationships with career partners based on corps members career interests
Americorps Member Feedback & Support
* Work with direct supervisor and the Impact Leadership team to support corps member survey completion, review, feedback loop and action steps at a site level as well as supporting alumni data collection and experience data
* Work with Directors to conduct feedback sessions with AmeriCorps Members to gauge their service experience
* Review corps member feedback on site wide activities and events, make recommendations for improvements based on trends

AmeriCorps Member Compliance & Benefits Support
* Collaborate with the Region Admissions Department, Government Relations (HQ) to streamline communication to confirmed incoming AmeriCorps Members and pilot new initiatives based on site data and needs
* Serve as Corps Site Analyst and receive training from HQ and AmeriCorps around onboarding, background check and exiting protocol
* Create a cohesive experience for AmeriCorps Members from confirmation through graduation including the onboarding process, registration and benefits process
* Monitor site wide retention and partner with Impact Directors and HQ partners around ongoing escalated corps member issues.
AmeriCorps Member Resources
* Develop new partnerships to support ongoing corps member needs such as housing, financial concerns, mental health concerns, trauma supports
* Research, coordinate and collaborate with partners on educational and learning opportunities for the corps related to existing challenges (example: budgeting, filing taxes, financial literacy, etc.)
* Collaborate with the City Year Headquarters to support AmeriCorps Members in understanding and accessing their existing benefits (example: health benefits, Employee Assistance Program, counseling support services, etc.)
AmeriCorps Member Coaching & Support
* Carry a revolving caseload of AmeriCorps Members who would benefit from additional guidance, coaching, or support
* Build scalable systems and standardized protocols for responding to and supporting members facing personal and professional challenges
* Collaborate with the ACM L&E Director to identify training that staff members need to support AmeriCorps Members
* In consultation with Impact Directors, provide coaching support to Impact Managers who are supervising AmeriCorps Members experiencing challenges in their service year
* Support Impact Managers in building AmeriCorps Member investment in the Performance Management Process as a tool for professional development
Returning AmeriCorps Member Recruitment and Team Leadership
* Collaborate with Recruitment and Admissions point and align on strategy for recruiting interested AmeriCorps Members including coordinating recruitment events for interested members
* Develop trainings that emphasize Impact Managers role in cultivating AmeriCorps Member talent, with a focus on Team Leader professional development opportunities
* In partnership with Impact Directors and the ACM L&E Director, plan and coordinate monthly trainings and two retreats per year for Senior AmeriCorps Members.
Organizational Initiatives & Site Support
* Serve as the primary AmeriCorps Member Experience liaison for relevant Headquarters calls, events and initiatives
* Participate in the hiring process for first year and senior AmeriCorps Members throughout the course of the year
* Partner with City Year Washington, DC departments and staff through stakeholder engagement, event and service day participation and cross-departmental committees as needed to ensure site-wide goals are met

* Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) or equivalent work experience. Preferred Masters in Social Work, Psychology, School Counseling or other related field

Salary Range: $55,000-$70,000 based on qualifications & experience
