Ammonia Refrigeration Technician Location: Clayton Pay: $28 - $35/hourSUMMARY OF POSITIONThis position is responsible for keeping the freezers at peak operating capacity with the least amount of downtime at minimum costs.Supervises Refrigeration, Maintenance, Electrical, Wastewater and Parts personnel and the activities involved in each area to ensure efficient production of high quality foods at the lowest possible cost with a minimum of waste.ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS Reports to: Refrigeration/Maintenance ManagerMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS- High School Diploma or GED- Must pass Maintenance Mechanic entry level test- Must take and pass RETA Basic Electricity and Refrigeration One, Two, Three and Four in conjunction with the Progressive Maintenance Program.***Minimum of 3 years of progressive work experience in Ammonia Refrigeration***- RETA 1 & 2 Certification is preferred but not required- Hazmat & Incident Commander Training is preferred but not required- Ability to read and interpret Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) Drawings- Ability to troubleshoot and repair multiple refrigeration manufacturers equipment- Computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.- Knowledge & experience with System Components: Screw Compressors Evaporators Evaporative Condensers Pumps Valve StationsIf you are interested and would like to discuss the role in further detail, please contact me either through indeed, or my email: ...@synerfac.comJob RequirementsDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES1. Responsible for the thorough understanding of the refrigeration system(s).2. Operate all freezers and associated equipment with limited supervision.3. Complete required paperwork as required by Supervisor.4. Perform the more difficult tasks associated with the Refrigeration Department.5. Troubleshoot and analyze special problem areas and diagnose where the problem exists.6. Adheres to common safety practices and rules; including wearing protective equipment and clothing as required.7. Adheres to plant hygiene regulations to ensure high product integrity.8. Assure all guards are in place prior to operating.9. Responsible for following food safety, legality and quality policies and procedures within the scope of the job responsibilities such as but not limited to: GMP s, food safety, food security, product quality, plant security, etc.10. Performs other related maintenance duties as assigned by Manager.11. Inspect calibrate and maintain all refrigeration system safeguards per manufacturer specifications12. Complete and evaluate daily logs pertaining to the temperature, pressure, and general operation of the refrigeration system13. Defining/ setting up ideal operational settings and parameters for all refrigeration equipment14. Perform preventive and predictive maintenance/ repairs on machinery within the refrigeration system15. Provide in depth troubleshooting of refrigeration, electrical, mechanical and control systems to root cause and recommends corrective actions16. Maintain water treatment systems and chemical controls for the evaporative condensers per manufacturer specifications17.
