Position Summary The Compliance Analyst will work with the Associate Director of Compliance and the Compliance Manager to provide support on all ethical screens Firm-wide, including establishment, maintenance and removal. They will a ssist with maintenance and audit of Restricted Securities List, preparation of Insider List reports, processing searches for securities trades, audits, marketing publications, and Lateral onboarding. This role is responsible for research and administrative functions in relation to Anti-Money Laundering and Sanctions analysis. The Compliance Analyst will interact with the Department of the General Counsel in relation to compliance processes and special projects, advise staff on resolving compliance issues and using appropriate resources for investigation, resolution and/or approval, and ensure compliance with departmental processes and legal rules and regulations. This is a non-legal position.
Duties and Accountabilities1 - Support Associate Director and team with processing searches in relation to securities trades, including review of related searches and analysis for General Counsel's review
- Facilitate all functions of Insider List preparation, tracking and necessary screen implementation
- Provide sanctions research support to lawyers. Anti-Money Laundering follow-up including assistance with audits
- Generate conflict searches using Intapp in relation to securities trades, lateral hires, audits, and marketing publications, as required
- Facilitate all ethical screen implementation and maintenance, including establishing screens, troubleshooting, pre-approval, follow-up, and documentation; coordinate and troubleshoot ethical screen and related database updates; perform internal compliance auditing functions and provide related reports on a regular basis
- Process acknowledgments, email correspondence and documentation relating to ethical and compliance issues as necessary
- Assist with all other functional initiatives, tasks and areas deemed necessary for effective and efficient departmental operation
Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree required
- At least two years' experience in a law firm, preferably in a law firm Conflicts department/General Counsel's office or comparable paralegal experience
- Understanding of ethical screens, sanctions, insider lists, securities trading, and lateral on-boarding helpful
- Ability to work well under pressure and deadlines while prioritizing workload with limited oversight
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Thorough knowledge of Word and Outlook
- Knowledge of Intapp Wallbuilder and Conflicts database desirable
- Team player
- Effective communicator with strong oral and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Flexible and adjusts well to change
Location and Reporting - This is a hybrid role based in our New York office.
- This role reports to the Associate Director of Compliance.
