Summary

As an Analyst or Junior Associate, Analytics & Debt, you will directly support the Director of Analytics on a wide range of tasks ranging from investment valuations, portfolio analytics, investor reporting, investment operations, debt and ad hoc projects, providing you with the exposure to various real estate asset types and markets in the US. You will also be working closely with different departments and contribute to multiple cross-functional processes. Strong financial analysis/modeling skills and superior attention to detail are essential to this role, as well as the ability to manage time efficiently and prioritize among competing deadlines. Additionally, your strong work ethics and an eagerness to learn will support your continued growth in this role and advancement within the team.

This role requires 5 days in office at our San Francisco, CA location.

Responsibilities

Data & Analytics:

  • Gather, consolidate, and evaluate data from investment and accounting teams to perform portfolio/fund-level analytics with high accuracy and timeliness.
  • Support portfolio analytics, valuations, budgeting, investment operations, and related projects.
  • Assist with investor-related or fundraising initiatives in collaboration with the Capital Strategy & Formation team.
  • Ensure the integrity and completeness of asset-level track record details, supporting internal/external reporting and investor requests.

Financial & Investment Operations:

  • Facilitate the quarterly reporting process by collaborating with internal teams to ensure interim and final deadlines are met.
  • Support preparations for business plan meetings, the annual property budgeting process, and other related tasks.

Lender Coordination & Debt Management:

  • Assist with lender coordination efforts, including setting agendas for calls, updating contact lists in real-time, tracking lender conversations, and maintaining a master sheet for all deals and related lender details.
  • Maintain a weekly debt summary which provides key debt updates to the executive team.
  • Support the preparation and management of documents related to loan extensions, modifications, and new financings.

Cross-Functional Support:

  • Act as a key contributor to cross-departmental projects by collaborating with teams from Asset Management, Legal, and Accounting.
  • Participate in bi-weekly debt meetings, DRAC (Debt Review and Approval Committee), and other key meetings, providing note-taking support and tracking action items.
  • Assist with the DRAC process by tracking memos, following up on requests, and facilitating the flow of information across teams.

New Financings & Strategic Initiatives:

  • Support new financing efforts by assisting with the marketing of new deals, tracking lender bids, and ensuring that all new financing processes are well-organized and documented.

Ad Hoc Projects:

  • Take on additional responsibilities as needed, including ad hoc projects requested by the Director of Analytics or other senior leaders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in finance, Real Estate, Accounting, or Economics.
  • At least 1-2 years of relevant experience in real estate, investment banking, or finance.
  • Exceptional financial modeling skills. Exposure and/or knowledge of real estate accounting and financial statement analysis a plus.
  • Superior attention to detail and an eye for accuracy.
  • General understanding of financial analysis frameworks and economics / finance.
  • Ability to be efficient and precise with numbers and deliverables while managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong critical thinking skills. Ability to form logical arguments and conclusions, while being able validate such with facts and evidence.
  • Ability to work effectively as an independent contributor and as a team player.
  • Self-managed, high level of initiative, strong work ethic and eagerness to learn.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Working knowledge of Argus a plus.
  • The person in this position must be able to:
  • Remain in a stationary position for 75% of the time working on a computer and attending virtual meetings.
  • Occasionally move about the office to access file cabinets, office technology, and attend meetings etc.

Compensation

  • $115,000-$125,000
