Job Description
Job Summary:
- Production and purification of research-grade AAV vectors in support of client drug substance process development and characterization. The team will provide support for analytical development areas of the Research Vector group.
Position Responsibilities:
- Perform routine analytical assays on a weekly basis to determine product quality and characterization.
- Characterize AAV viral vectors according to established protocols and report assay results in a timely manner.
- Document analysis according to good documentation practices in electronic laboratory notebook or other documentation methods such as test data worksheets or other prescribed methods.
- Perform DNA and Protein analysis including both quantitative and qualitative assays, e.g., ELISA, protein expression assays, MSD, HPLC and ddPCR.
- Perform in vitro bioassays to measure product strength.
- Formulation and testing of buffers and materials needed for routine assays and assay optimization.
- Laboratory operations (ordering supplies, preparing buffers/mobile phase/culture media, operating laboratory equipment, participation in quality and safety assessments, sample receipt/management, utilize electronic lab notebook, data authoring/review/integrity following good documentation practices).
- Support research scientists with their experiments based on company protocol, method, and procedures.
- Assist with maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized laboratory.
- Follow good laboratory, documentation, and safety practices.
Qualifications:
Basic Minimum Requirements:
- MS/BS with at least 1 year of full-time industry experience
- 1+ years of ELISA and HPLC experience in industry
Additional Preferred Skill Sets:
- PCR experience is highly preferred
- Utilizing electronic lab notebook, data authoring/review/integrity following good documentation practices.
- Experience with Delta V and Unicorn software.
- Data trending (e.g., metabolites, viable cell density, flux, pressure).
- Buffer and tubing assembly preparation.
Additional Information:
Position is Full Time, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm with weekends and/or holidays as required by business needs. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Boston, MA are encouraged to apply.
