The Analytical Scientist is responsible for developing and validating analytical methods for a variety of radioligand therapy (RLT) products for our clients in the Nucleus RadioPharma radiopharmaceutical development laboratory.

Description

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Develop and validate GMP-compliant analytical methods for a variety of radiopharmaceutical drug products using HPLC, TLC, GC, gamma spectroscopy, endotoxin testing, pH, etc.

* Lead the technical execution of analytical development activities at the Rochester site.

* Work with development team to generate the required CMC data package for the client.

* Help build technical expertise to meet future radiopharmaceutical drug product needs.

* Assist the development team in building project plans, timelines, and reports for the client.

* Work closely with scientific staff to evaluate technical feasibility of new products.

* Work with QC team in transferring analytical procedures to QC laboratory.

* Order materials for analytical work, oversee analytical instruments in the development laboratory and support laboratory operation for instrument qualification.

* Record experiments and test results accurately to meet corporate requirements.

* Draft development reports, validation protocols and SOPs for test methods.

* Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

* MS / PhD in Analytical Chemistry with 4+ years of relevant experience (or BS with 7+ years experience) required.

* Strong skills in chromatography (HPLC, GC, TLC) and operating basic lab instruments required.

* Hands-on work experience in developing new analytical methods and validating methods for pharmaceutical products following FDA, USP and ICH guidelines required.

* Analytical instrument operation and maintenance (HPLC, GC, TLC, etc.) experience required.

* Experience with analysis of radiopharmaceutical products containing alpha- and beta-emitting radioisotopes highly preferred.

* Radioactive material handling of gamma, beta and/or alpha emitters in radiological facilities (shielded glove boxes, hot cells etc.) experience preferred.

* Chemical and radiological laboratory safety (regulatory and best practices) experience preferred.

* Skills in performing biochemical assays (e.g. ELISA) seen as an advantage.

* Writing of technical documents (procedures, records, forms, experimental reports etc.) experience required.

* Demonstrated ability to multi-task, set priorities effectively and problem solve, including early identification of issues/problems that may arise.

* Effective communications, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.

* Ability to work as a team member, socialize ideas, and build successful working relationships.

* Ability to work independently with minimal direction and drive deliverable through to completion by deadlines provided.

* Highly organized with strong attention to detail and commitment to high quality work.

* Extended hours and weekend work may be required occasionally.

* Must be able to visually discern, distinguish, inspect, assess, and observe quality of product daily.

* Mechanical aptitude required; manual dexterity for manipulating small items; ability to lift 50 lbs. and to handle frequent crawling, stooping, crouching, and kneeling.

* May be subject to respiratory fit tests to ensure job and environmental safety.

THE FINE PRINT:

The salary range in Minnesota is $120,000 to $140,000 per year. Please note that compensation may vary outside of this range depending on several factors, including but not limited to a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location.
