The Analytics Team ensures information availability and security while utilizing analytics tools and methods to enhance the value of Premier Health's data assets. The team supports information needs for regulatory, clinical, quality, enterprise, and financial areas. The Analytics Architect is a high-level staff member of the Analytics Team responsible for executing the analytics strategy of Premier Health through the design, planning, and implementation of analytics solutions. These solutions are cost-effective, secure, and produce high levels of customer satisfaction. The position allows for the continued development of the employee's information system knowledge, skills, and business process understanding. The position requires frequent direct interaction with a wide and varied customer base. The ability to effectively influence and provide leadership and accountability within the peer group, and influence and communicate strategy and design throughout the customer base, including with IT and operational leadership, is necessary. Skills/Other: Demonstrates an advanced understanding of clinical and/or business operations including use of data and information within business processes. Possesses an advanced understanding of analytics platforms, and visualization structures and concepts. Possesses the communication skills necessary to collaborate effectively with users, colleagues, developers, and organizational administration. Demonstrates excellent analytical skills, including the ability to resolve complex problems. Ability to collaborate with cross-functional work teams without supervision. Ability to lead complex projects, holding others accountable for their deliverables. Demonstrates leadership and mentoring of other team members in the development, implementation, and problem resolution of an application. Demonstrates expert knowledge across multiple content or application areas. Ability to manage multiple diverse and complicated projects and analytical design work simultaneously. The role requires a leader with equal parts of visionary, evangelist, strategist, devil's advocate, and consultant. Strong knowledge of health care data types is required. Essential Duties & Functions: 1. Primarily accountable to interact with a wide variety of stakeholders to design solutions that are cost-effective, secure, and produce high levels of customer satisfaction. Internal interaction is frequently with both operational end users of information technology and with all levels of leadership, physicians, and customers. Frequent external involvement with vendor personnel is required in the following areas, including but not limited to: hardware/software analysis, software problem resolution, technology assessment, and project planning. 2. Collaborating with Enterprise Architects and working within general guidelines based on the IT strategy, recommend and design information systems that meet departmental objectives within functional areas of responsibility. 3. Accurately estimate resources and time required to complete projects and requests. Anticipate problems and adjust plans as needed. Create project charters and provide estimates of complex work efforts. 4. Provide advanced technical expertise in the development, maintenance, and issue resolution of information systems. Execute assignments, ranging from moderate to large, that affect many hospital/ corporation employees and are vital to the operational/financial management of the organization. 5. Conceptualize and create development and operational models and standards that encompass the Premier analytics delivery philosophy and direction, including the ownership of a blueprint by which to guide future development and decision-making. 6. Develop complex and critical analytics structures, platforms, and content. 7. Prepare integration and acceptance test plans. 8. Provide oversight of Analytics Developers, including mentoring, task assignment, specification review, unit test plan review, and problem resolution. 9. Advocate project management methodology and adhere to all change control policies. 10. Consistently lead and influence within peer group, and upward in the organization. Contributing as a team member in areas of applications responsibility, by advocating Agile Methodology and adhering to all Change Control Board (CCB) policies. The role requires the ability to lead and influence within peer group, upward in the organization, and throughout the customer base. JOB QUALIFICATIONS Education: A Bachelor's Degree in IT with 6 years of health care IT experience or a related Bachelor's Degree with 8 years of health care IT experience is required. Related degrees include BSN, BS Medical Technology, BS Radiology, BS Mathematics, BS Engineering, BS Biomedical Engineering, BS Laboratory, Pharmacy, or BS Medicine. Licensure: Not Applicable Certification: Will attend formal training and become certified in at least two Epic Clarity data models within two years of hire. Experience: •Three years of data warehousing/business intelligence experience is required. •Three years of Data Visualization experience is required. This experience must include design of hierarchies, dimensions, and aggregates, as well as the development of the presentation layer via reports, metrics, and dashboards. •Two years of experience in a business analyst role with experience in analysis, requirements gathering, and quality assurance testing. This position will be responsible for designing the Customer Facing Self-Service Analytics environment as well as the back end infrastructure to support it within the current cost structure. Premier Health currently uses Microsoft technologies to deliver a large portion of Analytical solutions.
