About PermitFlow PermitFlow's mission is to streamline and simplify construction permitting in the $1.6 trillion United States construction market. Our software reduces time to permit, supporting permitting end-to-end including permit research, application preparation, submission, and monitoring. We've raised a $31m Series A led by Kleiner Perkins with participation from Initialized Capital, Y Combinator, Felicis Ventures, Altos Ventures, and the founders and executives from Zillow, PlanGrid, Thumbtack, Bluebeam, Uber, Procore, and more. Our team consists of architects, structural engineers, permitting experts, and workflow software specialists, all who have personally experienced the pain of permitting. About the Team We have a lean but mighty engineering team. We've done a lot with a little, but there's much more work to be done to continue our fast-paced growth and we want you to be a part of that growth. You'll help us get there by owning end-to-end projects, talking with customers, and ultimately supporting the growth of PermitFlow. Ideally, you're based in NYC or willing to relocate for hybrid work. We're currently hybrid in-person 3 days/week in our NYC office. •What You'll Do: We are looking for a talented and passionate Analytics Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining data infrastructure to support scalable and actionable business intelligence. You'll work closely with engineers, product teams, and stakeholders to ensure data integrity, optimize analytics processes, and support decision-making across the company.
- Design and implement scalable data models optimized for analytics and company-wide reporting, continuously refining them to meet evolving business needs.
- Build and maintain efficient data pipelines to transform datasets for analytics.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to integrate data from sources like PermitFlow's CRM, 3rd party vendors, and other internal sources while optimizing for performance and reliability.
- Implement data governance to ensure consistency, quality, and security. Define key metrics, track data lineage, and enforce data quality checks.
- Work closely with stakeholders to deliver analytics solutions, develop dashboards, and provide training on data tools and best practices.
- Manage and optimize PermitFlow's data stack to support scalable reporting and insights.
Qualifications & Fit:
- 4+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or data analytics roles.
- Strong proficiency in PostgreSQL, SQL, dbt, or similar data warehousing technologies.
- Experience with ETL pipelines and tools, or other modern data stack tools.
- Advanced programming skills in Python or other languages for data transformation and analysis.
- Proven experience designing data models and building scalable data warehouses for analytics purposes.
- A deep understanding of data governance, data quality practices, and developing self-serve analytics solutions.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with business intelligence tools like Looker, Tableau, or Power BI.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like Google Cloud.
