What You'll Do

  • Think strategically about data and its impact on the company
  • Design and analyze experiments and A/B tests to optimize business strategies
  • Build comprehensive financial models for long-term business results forecasting
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with business stakeholders to deliver actionable insights and recommendations
  • Develop advanced dashboards that clearly tell a story with the data
  • Work closely with product, design, and engineering teams to understand business problems and provide data-driven solutions
  • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs
  • Create and automate analyses that drive the business through observing metrics, tracking history, or mining data
  • Develop and enforce data governance policies and procedures to ensure data quality, consistency, and security across the organization
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to establish data management best practices and address data-related issues
  • Ensure seamless data flow between analytics platforms and BI systems, optimizing data availability and accuracy
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of data analysts and BI Engineers, providing guidance and support for professional development
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment, setting clear performance goals and conducting regular performance evaluations
  • Recruit, onboard, and train new team members to build a high-performing analytics team

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Proven experience in data modeling – customer segmentations, churn prediction, lifetime value prediction, etc.
  • Strong background in business and data analytics, ideally in social/mobile startups.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills to assess trends in data
  • Proficiency in SQL and advanced analytic tools including data modeling tools (Snowflake, Tableau, MySQL)
  • Programming skills with R, Python, or similar languages
  • Experience managing a team of Data Analysts
  • Ability to translate real business problems into analytical data and actionable insights
  • Strong communication, storytelling, and data analysis skills with experience in product, growth, or marketing analytics at consumer internet-related companies
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts to stakeholders across the organization
  • Positive attitude and team player

Our beautiful and welcoming offices are available for meetings or focused work, whether you are traveling through or living nearby. Our U.S. offices are in San Francisco, CA, and Salt Lake City, UT. We love seeing each other in person! Be ready to travel for occasional in-person meetings (and of course, we cover travel costs).
