Responsibilities

The Analyzer Technician is responsible for field start-up and commissioning of analytical and measurement equipment, troubleshooting, and providing technical support, as needed. This individual will be responsible for the preventative maintenance of the assigned equipment. The successful candidate will embody these traits and will be a curious problem solver who is focused on continuous improvement.

  • Ensures safe and reliable operation in analytical lab, driving high safety standards and advising on safety best practices for chemicals and lab practices.
  • Works as a member of a cross-functional process team to in support of production to monitor process, troubleshoot production issues, and identify and champion process improvements.
  • Drives improvements in process analytical tools/techniques
  • Maintains process unit continuously building a body of technical knowledge around unit operation and processes.
  • Provides analytical support for the field and Plant including troubleshooting, new method development and management of outsourced samples.
  • Performs analyses on a non-routine basis as required by the business.
  • Works cross-functionally to conduct and document statistical evaluation of proposed specifications.
  • Performs specialized sampling and assessment of process unit performance.
  • Plans and documents projects and delivers results according to established timelines.
  • Develops operating procedures and provides training for testing equipment and new methods of test
  • Works with customers and outside labs to resolve analytical discrepancies.
  • Works in the field with operations and maintenance during turn arounds.
  • Will spend time in the field working with operations.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED, required
  • Associate's degree in related field, preferred
  • Valid driver's license
  • 5 years' experience in the energy field working with measurement equipment.
  • 5 years' Gas/Liquid Chromatograph experience
  • Ability to be on-call and work overtime, required
  • Must pass pre-employment and subject to random DOT drug testing
  • Ability to properly collect gas and NGL samples
  • Ability to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing.
  • Strong customer service and problem-solving capabilities
  • Experience and working knowledge of Sample Conditioning Systems, preferred
  • Experience with Daniels, Siemens, and ABB gas chromatographs, preferred
  • Experience with Spectra Sensors, preferred
  • Experience in process operation or process control, preferred
  • Knowledge of proper handling of environmentally hazardous substances, preferred
  • Capable of lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs.
  • Capable of vigorous outdoor activities and have manual dexterity with physical ability to work extended hours, climbing, bending, kneeling, squatting, working with arms extended above the head, twisting upper body, standing for long periods, walking on catwalks, exposure to extreme weather conditions, driving a vehicle, operation of forklifts and light industrial equipment
