This team builds and maintains the Material Views library, an open source set of UI components and systems to help our client build its products. Our current goals involve supporting accessibility, adaptive layouts, larger screens, more fluid and consistent motion, and the future design of their products.Overall Responsibilities:Develop UI Components for the Views library.Develop features with Material Designers, Material UX, and other engineers.Develop design docs, API proposals that shape how engineers use our library.Work directly with the Android app teams (such as Maps, Drive & Search).Develop and land great user experiences (you'll be writing and releasing code that is adopted by many public and internal apps).Support internal teams through maintenance, migrations and new feature work that reaches billions of users.We work with internal teams who depend on our work, and being a strong collaborator and communicator is a must.Top 3 Daily Responsibilities:Write UI code in Views to support highest priority roadmap items.Collaborate with peers on team and cross-functionally to ensure code written meets best in class standards and fulfills requirements.Conduct design and Accessibility Reviews to ensure a smooth rollout to both Internal and external app clients.Assist with burndown of bug backlog efforts.Mandatory Skills/Qualifications:Education: BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.5+ total years experience.Skills or processes candidates must have to be considered for the role:Experience with Views libraries.Experience with building UI Components for Android applications.Experience with building, maintaining, and releasing production Android applications.Experience partnering across PM, UX, PgM, and QA to deliver on organizational commitments.Familiarity with Android assistive technologies and Localization/Internationalization.Specific Tools or Applications experience (ex.
