Anesthesiologist for Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center in Clarksburg, WV
WHAT: We have been officially and exclusively awarded a Government contract for 1 full time Anesthesiologist for the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center.
WHERE: Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center, 1 Medical Center Drive, Clarksburg, WV 26301
WHEN: 2-year contract (1 Oct 2024 – 30 Sep 2026) with options to extend. Withing reason, can accommodate a later start if notice to your current employer necessitates.
COMPENSATION: - Earn over $1M annually. Rates are confirmed - no funny math.
- 1099
- M-F, 7:30am – 4:00pm: $400/hr.
- Overtime Rate for hrs. >40 per week (rare; only 120 HRS total estimated annually): $450/HR
- On-Call Weeknights (M-F, 4:00pm - 7:30am): $60/hr ($930 for a 15.5hr shift)
- On-Call Weekends (Sat 7:30am – Sun 7:30am) and/or (Sun 7:30am - Mon 7:30am): $75/hr ($1800 for a 24hr shift)
- On-Call Holidays: $100/hr ($2400 for a 24hr shit)
- Call-Back paid at overtime rate if it puts you over 40hrs per week
- With Receipts, there is additional reimbursement for lodging (up to $150/day) and rental car (up to $88/day)
- Med Mal: Bring your own or use our carrier and benefit from group rates.
QUALIFICATIONS: - Citizen of the United States
- Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in ANY State
- Board Certified/Board Eligible by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA)
- BLS, ACLS
- DEA registration
- Speak, understand, read and write English fluently
- Must be able to pass Government background security check (no record of criminal offenses or substantiated incidents of patient abuse)
MODEL: Anesthesiologists may personally administer anesthesia or may clinically supervise CRNAs
DEPARTMENT: - 4 operating rooms and 2 endoscopy suites
- 10+ cases per day depending on type of procedures scheduled.
- Currently 3 CRNAs (our contract) and ___ Anesthesiologists. A fully staffed department would be 4 CRNAs and 3 Anesthesiologists.
TYPES OF CASES: General, cardiac (defib and pacemakers), ortho, vascular (depends on vascular surgical staffing, but occasional carotid enterectomy, EVAR, Fistulas, Angiograms, angioplasty), thoracic (bronchoscopy and EBUS), ENT, urologic, and ophthalmologic surgeries. No neuro, no OB, no peds.
SCHEDULE: - M-F: Day Shift 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM (there is a mandatory 30 min unpaid lunch)
- M-F On-Call: 4:00 PM through 7:30 AM of the following day
- Weekend On-Call: Sat and Sun 7:30 AM to 7:30 AM the following day
- On-Call is shared amongst entire department. Average of one (1) day of evening on-call coverage per week, and one (1) weekend of on-call coverage per month. Call from home with a 60-min call back. Historically, there is only 1 call back per month.
- Time Off: This contract is for 2080 hrs. per year (40hrs/week x 52 weeks). You may request vacation as you would in any department. We priced it at such a rate that you would still be very highly compensated even when subtracting desired time off.
MISC: - The VA Medical Center is responsible for preparing your work schedule and clinical oversight, but you would not be a direct VA employee.
