An ASC is seeking an anesthesiologist for locum tenens coverage. The facility operates 2-4 operating rooms at a time, along with one Endoscopy suite and an Obstetrics unit, using paper charting. The privileging process takes 60-90 days. Requirements include an M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited College of Medicine, ECFMG, and FLEX certification, completion of an approved residency in Anesthesia, and a current physician license.

About the clinician's workdayThe schedule for this position is from 7 AM to 5 PM, with long-range call duties and minimal call backs. The case types include General, Orthopedic, Neurology, Vascular, Obstetrics, Gynecology, Urology, and Neuro (excluding head), with no Cardiac or Pediatric cases. The supervision model is a mix of solo work, 2:1, and 3:1 ratios with CRNAs. Overtime is available, and the call duties are low-frequency with long-range call-ins. Responsibilities include directing and coordinating activities in the Anesthesia Department, managing patients under anesthesia, performing pre-anesthesia assessments, obtaining and verifying patient consent, discussing anesthetic options and risks, managing anesthesia induction, maintenance, and emergence, monitoring patients' physiological conditions, and performing clinical interventions as needed.
