Job Description

Minimum Qualifications

Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.

Ability to communicate orally and in writing.

Ability to handle or restrain large and sometimes dangerous animals.

Ability to use a computer and related software.

Flexibility to work various schedules including weekends and holidays.

Preferences

Prefer High School diploma or GED.

Prefer knowledge of procedures for the care and humane treatment of animals.

General Functions

Responsible for the care of impounded animals, cleaning of cages, kennels and related spaces in the animal holding areas. Provides customer support as required.

Representative Duties/Assignments

* Clean and disinfect animal runs, kennels, cages, receiving areas and holding areas to ensure the health and well being of the animal population.

* Feed and water all animals in shelter.

* Assist Animal Services Officers in the process of impounding animals.

* Maintain daily use inventory of kennel supplies. Complete and file routine forms and reports.

* Assist general public within the kennel as needed.

* Other related duties as assigned.

$16.23 to $26.10
