The Yellowstone Wildlife Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Red Lodge, MT. It was founded in 1983 as the Beartooth Nature Center and has recently celebrated its 40th Anniversary. The Sanctuary's mission is to provide lifelong sanctuary to non-releasable native wildlife while promoting conservation and education efforts.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an Animal Care Manager at the Yellowstone Wildlife Sanctuary in Red Lodge, MT. The Animal Care Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day care and well-being of the sanctuary's native wildlife residents, coordinating with the veterinary team, managing enrichment programs, and ensuring compliance with animal care standards.

Qualifications

• Animal Care, Animal Health including diet, enrichment, and medication plans
• Attention to detail and ability to work in a team environment
• Management experience including hiring, training, and supervising animal keepers
• Ability to handle and care for a variety of wildlife species including carnivores
• Awareness and adherence to government agency regulations required for Sanctuary animals
• Strong observational, organization, and communication skills with the ability to maintain records for all residents of the Sanctuary.
• Previous experience in wildlife rehabilitation or sanctuary management is a plus
• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Zoology, Wildlife Management, or related field
