Job Description:
Essential Duties & Responsiblities: Responsible for general animal welfare and the proper confinement and disposition of animals in the shelter. Prepare food and water for shelter animals and distribute accordingly. Receive animals into the shelter and perform appropriate intake functions including vaccinations and completing computer records. Cleans and disinfects animals' quarters. Observe animals to detect illnesses and injuries; notify supervisor accordingly. Perform all necessary animals handling safely and humanely. Assist in or perform as necessary the euthanasia of shelter animals. Subdue unruly or aggressive animals. Work effectively with other team members. Perform any other task assigned by supervisor. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED. Valid Texas driver's license and good driving record. Preferred: Ability to identify dog and cat breeds and various types of wildlife, including birds. Have affinity for dealing with animals in a caring and responsible manner. The City of Pasadena offers very generous benefits to all full-time employees. For example:
