We are currently seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual for an Animal Care Technician Position. If experience warrants, this position may be an elevated Senior Technician Position.
Working as part of our Animal Resources Center, the selected candidate will primarily work with laboratory animals in a neuroscience research laboratory setting. Typical duties will include managing daily animal care; maintaining a clean environment; assisting other animal technicians when needed; performing housekeeping within the facility; monitoring animals during and after surgery; maintaining colony management software and daily health records; preparing diets; and performing other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required or assigned.
High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of two (2) years of related experience or a Bachelors Degree in a related scientific discipline and no related experience is required. Organizational abilities, effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Experience working with exotic species and husbandry are preferred.
Bachelors Degree is preferred.
AALAS certification is preferred.

Must be available for weekend and holiday rotations.
