The Animal Caretaker II, under supervision, provides animals and facilities care including handling and restraint of research animals; operates mechanical equipment, and perform minor maintenance repair. Also help assist the vet staff with large animal research and teaching procedures and treatments. What you need to know. Compensation will be commensurate to selected hires experience. The hours for this position are Friday, Saturday and Sunday 1 p-2 a. This position is also eligible for a shift differential. Required Education:High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Required Experience:Two years of experience in animal care. Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others. Ability to read and understand written instructions. Preferred Experience:More than two years of large animal experience in husbandry, handling, and restraint.
