DescriptionAnimal Environmental Techs are hard-working, independent workers up on their feet! You'll play an important role in the operations of the company because your work helps ensure the health and safety of our animals by cleaning and inspecting our animal housing enclosures. Using a high-pressure washer, you will wash, sanitize, and rinse pens. You will sweep and wash floors with a motorized sweeper and assist in cleaning and sanitizing shipping crates as needed. You also get to move animals from one building to another using a 'buggie' transport vehicle.This is a part-time position up to 29 hours. Days and times to be determined based on weekly need.This position is in grade N1 with an hourly pay range of $17 - $22.25. Compensation is based on experience!Marshall Farms' Animal Environmental Tech is directly responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy animal environment by cleaning and inspecting the animal housing enclosures as directed by the Supervisor.Essential Tasks:Group and move animals as directed by the Supervisor Animal Environment in an accurate and expeditious manner using proper handling techniques while noting and reporting animal morbidity issues.Operate the feed system in order to dry feed beagles.Responsible for feeding (dry feed) and checking water for the animals that they move.Operate feed vac to recycle feed.Operate feed buggie to dry feed ferrets or by hand utilizing a feed cart.Prepare pens prior and subsequent to cleaning.Wash, sanitize, and rinse pens and animal buildings using a high-pressure washer.Sweep and wash floors in animal buildings with a motorized sweeper and pressure washer.Assist in cleaning and sanitizing of shipping crates as needed.Ensure that all entry and biosecurity procedures are followed.Dry feed in the ferret area.Weekend wet feed in the ferret area.Work Conditions & Special RequirementsWork Conditions:Conditions are often hot and humid, with frequent animal contact. Duties are performed primarily on 1st shift with varying extended hours, including occasional weekend work.Must be able to be on a weekend rotation wet feeding in ferrets.Physical Requirement:Work is physically demanding with a requirement to lift animals. Job duties may be performed while wearing personal protective equipment.
