We are seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to join our agricultural team as a Work study with a focus on animal husbandry. The ideal candidate will have a deep passion for animal welfare, possess strong practical skills in livestock management, and be committed to implementing best practices in animal care. The Work Study will play a crucial role in ensuring the health, well-being, and productivity of our farm's livestock - specifically on weeks and holidays.
* Students must be enrolled in AT LEAST 6 credit hours to qualify for FWS Program
This is a part-time opportunity. Students may work up to 15 hours per week, depending on their unmet need on their FASFA.*

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Livestock Care:
* Oversee the daily care and well-being of farm animals, including but not limited to cattle, donkeys, and goats.
* Monitor and maintain optimal living conditions, nutrition, and health of animals
Facility Management:
* Maintain clean and well-organized animal housing facilities.
* Ensure proper ventilation, lighting, and temperature control in barns and pens.
* Collaborate with maintenance staff to address infrastructure needs.
Feeding and Nutrition:
* Monitor feed quality, storage, and distribution.
Health and Disease Management:
* Monitor animals for signs of illness and promptly address health issues.
* Implement disease prevention measures and coordinate with veterinarians as needed.
* Maintain accurate health records.
Record Keeping:
* Keep detailed records of breeding activities, animal health, and performance metrics.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory documentation related to animal husbandry.
* Generate reports for management on animal-related metrics.
Schedule Requirements:
This position requires flexibility in working hours, and the Work Study may be required to work on weekends, holidays, and during adverse weather conditions. The nature of agricultural operations, especially in animal husbandry, necessitates ongoing care and attention. The Work Study should be prepared to respond to the needs of the farm, ensuring the well-being of the livestock, even in challenging weather conditions or during critical periods such as birthing seasons. The ability to adapt to changing schedules and the dedication to ensuring the welfare of the animals is essential for success in this role
