EMPLOYER: Trident Dairy Holdings LLC JOB TITLE: Animal Scientist Calf Health JOB LOCATION: New Sweden Dairy, 43475 Co Rd 15, Nicollet, MN 56074 (Nicollet) JOB DUTIES: Responsible for developing, evaluating, and managing calf health for commercial dairy operation. Specific duties include: (1) monitoring calf herd health and implementing programs to improve animal health care; (2) assisting in diagnosis and treatment of sick calves, including routine vaccinations and preventative management; (3) evaluating signs of vigor in newborn calves; (4) evaluating and implementing calf nutrition programs, including administering colostrum; (5) monitoring environment and other factors to detect or assess problems affecting calf health; (6) performing detailed recordkeeping; and (7) performing related day-to-day activities to ensure calf health. Housing available in exchange for rent. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree in Animal Science, Veterinary Medicine, or related; one year of livestock industry experience.
