Job Description
General Functions
Documents and responds to all inquiries, service requests and comments received from the public to provide pertinent information on adoptions, ordinance requirements, spay/neuter questions, and any other type of general information.
Representative Duties/Assignments
* Provides citizens with assistance to resolve complaints.
* Performs various clerical duties as required, such as filing, data entry, and document management.
* Receives and processes telephone calls.
* Assists with the intake of animals received, reclaimed by owners and adoptions as needed. Involves the direct handling of animals.
* Assists with peer training new employees on job related responsibilities and functions.
* Receives payments and disburses receipts for various services.
* Communicates current Animal Services Ordinances, policies, and requirements to the public and information on responsible pet ownership.
* Processes, logs and tracks paperwork regarding lost pets, adoptions, citations and warnings, rabies tags, trap rentals, impoundments, quarantines, burials, reclaimed animals and disclosures. Provides information to the public on these and other issues.
* Other related duties as assigned.
* Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from High School or equivalent and one year of customer relations experience that includes working with the general public, complex problem resolution, and data entry experience.
Ability to effectively communicate verbally with the public.
Must be able to work shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Pay Grade: 010 - From $17.57 to $21.52
