GENERAL SUMMARY
Under general supervision of the Airport Operations Center (AOC) Manager, the AOC Systems Specialist is responsible for the management of all IND Public Safety specific IT systems and hardware including Motorola PremierOne CAD / Mobile, IDACS, and NICE as well as ensuring the readiness of the IND Emergency Operations Center (EOC). In addition, he/she will provide leadership, guidance, technical and procedural informational technology (IT) support to the Airport Public Safety Division.
The AOC Systems Specialist must possess considerable knowledge of a wide range of IT Systems, Communications, Security, Life Safety, Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), and other various airport management and monitoring systems and a working knowledge of airport operations, security, and law enforcement practices, in addition to familiarity of federal regulations governing airfield activities and airport security.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* Oversees the day-to-day operational readiness of various Airport Public Safety Systems
* Provides in-house IT support to the Emergency Operations Center during crisis situations
* Provides in-house IT support to the Airport Operations Center
* Prepares, provides, analyzes, and reviews reports, documents, and statistics related to AOC informational and technical systems
* Creates and writes quality assurance and cybersecurity policies and procedures relating to Public Safety informational technology systems
* Assists in the continued compliance with Airport Operations, Airport Security Plan, APCO, E-911 PSAP protocols, IDACS/NCIC, FAA, TSA, DHS, Department of Labor, and FCC procedures and regulations
* Researches and recommends changes to operational plans and communications programs in response to changes in communications technology
* Performs or coordinates special projects related to the enhancement of AOC IT systems
* Presents systems and equipment recommendations to AOC manager for consideration and funding approval
* Troubleshoots and resolves technical issues within the AOC/EOC
* Monitors and documents performance of CAD system and other in-house electronic and mechanical systems and specialized communications information technology equipment and recommends improvements and upgrades
* Diagnoses, corrects, and requests repair services for minor public safety equipment/system problems
* Ensures that routine checks and maintenance are performed on communications equipment including transmitters and receivers; police, fire, safety, and security alarm systems; and related equipment
* Leads the development of security standards and best practices for the IAA Department of Public Safety
* Performs risk assessments of Public Safety Systems and assists with developing remediation strategies
* Creates programs to educate & train users on new security products and procedures
* Works closely with the IT Network Security Manager and suggests new security initiatives and enhancements
* Receives from shift supervisors, reports of defective or malfunctioning communications equipment/parts and arranges for their immediate replacement and/or repair
* Assists the Airport IT Department with the technical design and documentation of Public Safety IT Infrastructure, including backup and monitoring.
* Serves as a technical resource to the Airport's in-house IT Department
COMPUTER AND EQUIPMENT SKILLS:
* Management of recent and current Microsoft Technologies (SQL Server Data Tools, Windows, Windows Server)
* Knowledge of best practice of installation, and configuration of: Physical and virtual servers; Vsphere; Cisco routers, switches, and related equipment.
* Proficiency in cloud Computing; firewalls; backups; disaster recovery; privacy and security
* Proficiency in networking including WiFi, WANs, copper connections, and fiber connections
* Working knowledge of telecommunications, security, Life Safety, Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), and other various airport public safety systems
REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, CONDITIONS
* The Indiana Data and Communications System (IDACS) certification
* Ability to perform all the essential functions of the job outlined above without creating a direct threat to the safety of oneself of others
* Must be able to handle sensitive information with complete confidentiality
* Must possess a valid State of Indiana vehicle operator's license with demonstrated good driving record and airport airfield driving privilege
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
* Bachelor's degree in computer science, business or related field, or requisite experience.
* Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in computer technology and one (1) year of project management.
* Prior experience with Public Safety and with Motorola PremierOne CAD and RMS, preferred.
* Knowledge of IT Service Management best practices.
* Excellent intrapersonal communication and facilitation, independent judgment and proven problem-solving abilities.
* Ability to communicate effectively both oral and written.
* Ability to obtain and maintain an Airport SIDA badge.
