The Annealing and Pickling 1 Entry/Welder Operator is responsible for operating equipment to assist in the finish process of stainless steel coil. The Annealing and Pickling Entry/Welder Operator must be able to stand and walk for 12 hours a day and lift up to 50 pounds in the plant. You Will Enjoy

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Consult the schedule of coils to be run to ensure correct coil is on the line
  • Feed coil to shear, cut off leaderstrip, cut scrap to proper gauge, feed head of coil to welder
  • Weld coil to tail of preceding coil
    • This operation must be completed in an efficient manner so that the furnace operator is not required to slow the line speed down
    • All incoming coils must be inspected at the head, middle, and tail and this, along with the date, must be entered into the AS400 system
  • Communicate to exit coil number running and observe for any incoming defects
  • Monitor coils in line for steering and defects, and correct as necessary
  • Follow all prescribed safety rules
  • Perform housekeeping and maintenance work as assigned
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Must be able to read and speak the English language
  • Must be able to pass a drug test, physical examination, and a background check
  • Must be able to stand and walk for up to 12 hours a day
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to see well with or without correction
  • Must have the ability to work a rotating shift
Education/Experience
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED required
