We manage a diverse portfolio of multifamily properties and are currently seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance/Make Ready Technician to join our team.Job Description:As a Maintenance/Make Ready Technician at SYLIS Property Management, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the upkeep and readiness of our multifamily properties. Your primary responsibility will be to prepare vacant units for new residents by performing repairs, cleaning, and completing maintenance tasks to meet company standards. Additionally, you will respond to resident maintenance requests, conduct regular property inspections, and assist with general maintenance duties. You will work closely with the property management team to ensure the properties remain safe, well-maintained, and aesthetically appealing. Your attention to detail, strong work ethic, and ability to work independently will directly contribute to the smooth operation of our communities.Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct property inspections to identify and address maintenance needs efficiently.
  • Perform general repairs, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and appliance maintenance.
  • Prepare vacant units for new residents, ensuring cleanliness and functionality.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of work areas and property grounds, including common areas.
  • Troubleshoot and ensure the proper functioning of HVAC systems.
  • Respond to maintenance requests quickly to ensure resident satisfaction.
  • Monitor the property for safety hazards, resolving issues proactively.
  • Support move-in and move-out inspections to ensure units meet company standards.
  • Collaborate with team members and property management to resolve maintenance-related concerns.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders and repairs.
  • Manage inventory for tools, supplies, and equipment.
  • Be available for on-call after-hours emergency maintenance.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; certifications in maintenance are preferred.
  • Proven experience in maintenance or make-ready roles, ideally in the multifamily housing industry.
  • Knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry and appliance troubleshooting.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders and working in various weather conditions.
  • Familiarity with property maintenance software is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed.
