General Description and Classification Standards

The Sr. E911 Recruiting Coordinator will play a vital role in the recruitment and selection of qualified personnel for the E911 emergency communications team. This position is responsible for managing the full recruitment lifecycle, from sourcing candidates to onboarding new hires, while ensuring a positive candidate experience. The coordinator will work closely with hiring managers to meet staffing needs and maintain a high standard of quality in the recruitment process.

The Recruiting Coordinator is an integral partner in managing recruiting activities and building candidate relationships; often providing candidates with their first impression of the City of Atlanta as an employer of choice. The selected candidate will work diligently with retention of E-911 personnel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities The following duties are normal for this job. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

  • Assists Recruiters and Talent Acquisition Manager with various recruiting functions for internal and external candidates to include Scheduling of interviews, and/or Sourcing Candidates Coordinates/Initiates all pre-employment testing, which may include assessments, background checks, drug testing and physicals
  • Review applications and resumes to identify qualified candidates for E911 positions.
  • Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed and training schedules are established.
  • Prepare and conduct orientation sessions to introduce new employees to the organization, policies, and procedures.
  • Build relationships with local educational institutions, community organizations, and job fairs to promote E911 career opportunities.
  • Collaborate with HR and training departments to align recruitment efforts with organizational goals.
  • Administer assessments and background checks as required for E911 candidates.
  • Collaborate with department leadership to identify staffing needs and develop effective recruitment strategies tailored to E911 personnel.
  • Utilize various sourcing methods, including job boards, social media, and networking, to attract a diverse pool of candidates.
  • Available for communication with candidate during entire recruiting process
  • Coordinates and participates as needed in employment job fairs
  • Coordinates/assists with on boarding/orientation of new employees
  • Assists recruiter in job postings to various job boards, employment centers, social media outlets, colleges and universities, etc.
  • Act as a point of contact for candidates, addressing inquiries and providing updates on their application status.
  • May assist in preparation of job descriptions, coordination of candidate's travel, employee referral programs
  • Provides overall administrative support in a fast-paced environment, high volume recruiting environment

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, with emphasis on Excel (intermediate to advanced user)
