Provide direct medical management for patients within their scope of practice with the collaborating physician or designee.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:1. Registered Nurse licensed in the State of WV and licensed as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner in the State of WV2. Master's Degree in Nursing specializing in Emergency or Family Practice3. Current ACLS, PALS, and BLSCORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. Renders health care services to patients consistent with education, training, and experience as an advanced practice nurse2. Receives patients, obtains health histories, performs physical examinations, develops diagnoses, and treatment plans, prescribes medications, order and interprets laboratory, pathology, x-ray tests and other clinical data3. Obtains and prepares specimens for laboratory testing4. Performs or assists in laboratory testing procedures consistent with education, skills, and training5. Gives injections and immunizations6. Sutures and performs biopsies and electrocautery consistent with education, skills, and training7. Provides patient counseling8. Discusses other health care resources with patients and their families and refer patients, where appropriate9. Makes arrangements or assists with arrangement, for patients in need of more sophisticated diagnostic or treatment modalities than those offered10. Provides emergency care services within the range of education, skills, and experience11. Distributes medical supplies and dispense and prescribe medications, including prescriptive medication within the range of education, skills, and experience12. Supplies general health care information13. Maintain confidentiality of patient records14.
