Job Description Application Delivery Systems and Endpoint Engineer - VIC1068 * The role will have a primary focus on Application Delivery to endpoints, business units and users primarily leveraging Citrix, SCCM etc.

* It will have a specific focus on automation and orchestration, leveraging existing technologies (SCCM) as well as working alongside other parts of the Organization to provide recommendations on alternatives.

* Develop and manage images across CVI infrastructure endpoints, VDIs, servers working alongside other members of the Application Delivery, Information Security, Regional IT Ops and Service Design teams to ensure requirements are continually met and updated.

* Performs problem troubleshooting, diagnosis, and resolution of kernel panics, system hangs, performance issues, and any other O/S related issues.

* Proactively monitors systems to ensure optimal performance, systems health, and availability.

* Aid and support to the application, Regional IT Ops and other teams in identifying root cause, corrective action, and resolution.

* Leverages scripting skills and available tools to automated processes to improve efficiencies.

* Performs ongoing performance tuning and resource optimization as required.

* Performs systems capacity planning.

* Provides trending, utilization, and availability reports on a regular basis.

* Provide recommendation on endpoint hardware specifications to Regional IT Ops, Service Design and Business Units.

* Works closely with various IT groups to schedules and coordinates preventative and corrective maintenance, perform installations of hardware, software, and operating systems changes and configurations.

* Follows CooperVisions change management practices.

* Monitors incoming service requests, incidents, and projects to ensure that they are completed in a timely and high-quality manner.

* Documents all policies, procedures, standards, system administration activity, and disaster recovery procedures around the build and continuing operation of all systems including Server, Storage, Citrix and sometimes Linux

* Maintain security, backup and redundancy strategies

* Performs Operating System management tasks, including upgrades, patch maintenance, performance tuning, and O/S hardening.

* Ensures systems configuration follows best practices and adheres to CooperVisions security and SOX policies/guidelines

* Conducts routine hardware and software audits; and provide recommendations for hardware and system software planning.

* Works closely with various IT groups including but not limited to project management, database administration, network and security teams, application team and assists in overall architectural design, implementation and troubleshooting

* Diagnosis hardware and software problems and recommends solutions and performs necessary system repairs

* Ensure backup services are configured to serve and functions as a line of defense against inadvertent system damage

* This role while focusing on existing environment tasks/process will have a specific focus on developing efficiencies across the CooperVision environment to help in migrating services into the cloud.

* Researches, analyzes and recommends backup/security strategies as required

* Works with the Manager in establishing policies on system use and services

* Planning of the future of the operating system environment

* As business needs dictate, extended/flexible working hours maybe required.

* Provides on-call support for problem resolution

* Working knowledge and experience of Citrix and other application delivery tools.

* Experience with Microsoft and Linux (desirable) deployments on VMWare (Red hat/Oracle) and Support

* Experience in current VMWare vSphere Installation, configuration and administration (~v7, ideally strong knowledge of vSAN, SRM, vCenter.

* Solid cloud experience with Office365, Azure, AWS

* Experience with orchestration and automation tools

* Must be able to communicate effectively with different business units some technical, some not.

* Working Knowledge of SAN technologies, specifically vSAN and EMC (XtremIO)

* Red hat Linux administration experience is an advantage

* Knowledge of PowerShell scripting and alternatives

* Working knowledge of Okta/ADFS

* Developing performance monitoring and capacity planning techniques

* Experience and exposure with Citrix and specifically application delivery within a Citrix environment preferred

* Excellent problem solving and analytical expertise, situational decision making.

* The ability to prioritize demands for mission critical systems.

* Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.

* Excellent time management

* Highly self-motivated, self-directed, and attentive to detail.

* Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

* At least 5 years related experience in a Systems Engineer role.

* Experience in a manufacturing/distribution environment desirable
