Job Description:
TITLE: Application Packager Level IIITYPE: ContractLOCATION: Plymouth Meeting, PAONSITE/REMOTE/HYBRID: RemoteSTART DATE: September/October 2024SHIFT: 1stWe are looking for an Application Packager Level III. This individual should be proficient in Windows 10 and SCCM environments and skilled in utilizing Install Sheild with a knowledge of GPOs. They will also possess expertise in application packaging technologies, including MSI, MSIX, MST, and managing MSI upgrades.MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare client systems and corresponding applications for diverse project environments, configuring systems as per guidelines.
  • Diagnose and rectify issues related to client hardware, the operating system, and third-party applications, with an emphasis on issue analysis and escalation where required.
  • Establish and manage application approval processes tailored to client needs, ensuring adherence to policy and procedure documentation.
  • Support hardware and software procurement and asset management.
  • Undertake testing activities specific to the analyst's platform, contributing to development and execution.
  • Document installation and troubleshooting guides for validated software, sharing knowledge with the Business Planning & Support team and associated support personnel.
  • Aid in implementing changes and enhancements, adhering to established change management procedures.
  • Engage in project teams aimed at developing bespoke solutions for fundamental business projects, leveraging a blend of business insight and technical expertise to devise durable, scalable solutions.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key business solution providers, acting as a technical intermediary.
  • Comply with security guidelines relevant to the Windows client platform.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3-5 years of proven experience in software support and packaging.
  • Experience with Install Shield or similar packaging solutions.
  • Skilled in application version control during upgrades.
  • Familiarity with software deployment via Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).
  • Capable of packaging software for Windows 10 and Windows 11 platforms.
  • Proficient in creating and modifying MSI packages according to client needs.
  • Good understanding of GPOs and Active Directory.
  • Knowledgeable about Windows security components and permissions.
  • A degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
  • Savvy in automating software installations.
  • Competent in providing L1 and L2 support for packaged applications.
  • Microsoft Certification is a plus, but not mandatory.
