The Application Scientist will be responsible for providing technical support for pre- and post-sale activities. A successful candidate will balance responsibilities and enhance the Microtrac sales and customer experience. This dynamic role requires time management, organization skills, and customer engagement. The position has a primary focus on Static Multiple Light Scatter (SMLS) technology, with secondary attention to Dynamic Light Scatter (DLS) and Streaming Zeta Potential (SZP) technologies.Doing what is funCoordinate, measure, analyze, and write reports for incoming customer samples. The application scientist presents findings to customers to aid decision-making processes. Updating the customer relationship management (CRM) and laboratory database is a central pre-sales task.Support existing Turbiscan customers by providing application information, answering inquiries, troubleshooting issues, and taking appropriate action. Post-sales efforts involve teamwork with adjacent departments like service, quality, and engineering.Conduct on-site and virtual product demonstrations in conjunction with the North American sales force, exhibiting the Turbiscan (SMLS) product line capabilities.Participate in a technical marketing plan by conducting webinars, authoring application notes, and creating video content.Maintain and operate a safe and functional demonstration laboratory.Travel 10-25%.QualificationsAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or a related scientific field. Minimum 3 years laboratory experience is preferred.Proven experience and familiarity in a laboratory environment. Proficiency with various types of equipment such as pipettes, microscopes, sample dividers, analytical balances, glassware, hot plates, and magnetic stirrers. Specific experience with product formulation and dispersion chemistry is a plus.Have strong attention to detail, effective time management, continued organization effort, and ability to communicate through written reports.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Teams. Ability to learn multiple Microtrac software platforms.Ability to work independently and cooperatively. Excellent time management skills and task prioritization.
