Job Description:

Contract Role (W2 Engagement) – Application Security Architect – Boston/ Hybrid – 6 months

Gibbs Consulting is looking for a skilled Application Security Architect with extensive experience in application security, conducting architectural reviews, and performing security risk assessments. The ideal professional will have in-depth expertise in securing containerized platforms (OpenShift, Podman, and Docker), API management (ideally with MuleSoft and Traceable), addressing open-source vulnerabilities using NexusIQ, and deploying Runtime Application Self-Protection (RASP) solutions such as Contrast Protect.

• Location: Boston/Hybrid (3 days per week onsite Tues - Thurs)

• Contract Type: Contract

• Duration: 06 months initially with possible extension

• Sector: Investment Management

• Visa sponsorship is not available, and candidates must be based locally.

This senior-level position emphasizes application security and would be best suited for a candidate based in Boston. The role requires strong expertise in container technologies, MuleSoft, Traceable, and the skills detailed below.

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in application security, with a focus on security architecture and risk evaluation.

• Demonstrated capability in securing containerized ecosystems and overseeing container security measures.

• Proficiency in API security and management, particularly with tools like MuleSoft and Traceable.

• Practical knowledge of managing open-source vulnerabilities using NexusIQ.

• Experience in implementing RASP technologies, with preference for Contrast Protect.

• Comprehensive understanding of secure coding practices, threat modeling, and ethical hacking.

• Familiarity with security frameworks and standards such as OWASP, NIST, and ISO 27001.

• Possession of relevant certifications (CISSP, CEH, OSCP, etc.) is highly advantageous.

• Strong skills in communication, problem-solving, and analytical thinking.

• Ability to excel in a fast-moving, dynamic environment that demands adaptability and continuous upskilling.

• Proven track record of collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

• Prior experience in the financial services sector is an added benefit.
