Role: Application Support Engineer Location: New York, NY (Onsite Tuesday/ Wednesday/Thursday) Duration: Long Term Contract Responsibilities:

  • Key player and helped with Operations Application support transition from other vendor to Client on the ground
  • US regional support interacting with various teams and ensuring start of the day market opening and end of the day market closure activities are smooth.
  • Addressing time critical User queries which involves complex investigations. This requires a unique skillset to understand the business from user's perspective and provide the resolutions. I am quick in addressing these with my prior knowledge. Development managers acknowledged my efforts multiple times.
  • Besides the business knowledge, my technical skills are helping the team with analyzing the Java code and provide solutions. There are cases, where the Dev team has used my analysis and implemented the changes in short time.
  • Well verse with the technologies used in Jefferies including the Vendor products (Client products, CTM, SWIFT etc.) and I was very quick in adopting the new technology SSRS reporting and implemented multiple user needs.
  • I also run longer duration projects end to end and an example testament i.e. SQL reporting Server decommission wherein I had to collaborate with DBA teams, 500+ users involved in 250+ reports. A complete project plan was created and implemented following SDLC. It's a development task but requested to pick by the Support team.
  • Being an SME, involved in SRE activities i.e. perform frequent failure analysis, logging manual work, automating manual tasks (toil reduction). Also, earned the credibility from stake holders.
  • Ability to work under pressure is another strong skill which is helping me to jump into the problem and managing the situation/expectations.
  • I have been managing my schedules and contributing with training to the teams, onboarding the team members, conducts Interviews and much more. Most of the team members in the project were trained by me.
  • Application landscape was increased multiple folds with combining multiple teams and I have spent much of my personal time over weekends to get to up to the speed as I am the main point of contact in US.
  • Always with positive attitude and ready to help. Have worked on multiple weeks ends on demand without any prior notice to resolve the time critical incidents like Instinet recon breaks resolution ahead of Monday business users come in. Ideas were given to ingest the dropped data back.
  • Always available to team, prepare and represent the team in governance calls with Senior stake holders. Have planned and participated Industry wide DR tests including but not limited to SIFMA, REGSCI, Client tests.
  • Step into and act as POC for all stake holders while my manager is away.
