As a member of the Data & Development team within the Information Technology organization, the Application Support Specialist, supports internal and external end-users with complex enterprise application related issues. This role resolves complex technical problems surrounding installation, usage, system performance, system availability, and user education/training. Responsibilities:
- Provides excellent customer service and support to technical and non-technical end-users for complex, business-related technical issues.
- Evaluates, troubleshoots, and solves a wide range of problems across standard and non-standard systems, applying sound technical judgment to ensure solutions are practical and thorough.
- Collaborates with other IT teams and functions to restore service as quickly and effectively as possible.
- Escalates particularly complex issues to senior members of the support team or other IT teams as appropriate, ensuring communication of your findings, steps taken to resolve, steps to reproduce, and any other relevant information.
- Participates in root cause analysis to identify and resolve underlying problems.
- Configures, maintains, and updates a wide range of enterprise software applications, in addition to internally developed applications and interfaces.
- Studies and documents specific business and system requirements, and plans, schedules, and coordinates efforts to install/upgrade various applications.
- Serves a key role in providing technical expertise for product evaluation, new deployments, and updates.
- Follows established processes and procedures to log, track, and complete assigned tasks on time and with great attention to detail.
- Contributes to the IT knowledgebase by writing and peer reviewing articles that clearly and fully document team findings, workarounds, known issues, etc.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by the role and determined by management.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree strongly preferred, will consider comparable work experience.
- 0-2 years of relevant experience is preferred.
- Entry level professional with limited or no prior experience.
- Focuses on learning professional skills and role-specific knowledge through on-the-job training and experiences.
