OverviewSMBC is in process of leading a Digital Transformation across our Americas Division as we continue to modernize our technology, focus on our data driven approach, grow and plan for the future. As a result of this expansion we are seeking an experienced Application Support to join our Nikko / Capital Markets Technology team.Reporting to Application Support Manager, this position will have an opportunity to setup and understand a production environment, work with our development teams and directly with our traders. Here you will regularly be working with and presenting to senior leaders at the bank.The role requires the individual to have a proactive and positive approach, strong client-facing and interpersonal skills and can work collaboratively with the Development organization.The anticipated salary range for this role is between $126,000 and $196,000. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain standards and documentation for daily maintenance and administration of the applicationsWork with IT Sec to schedule and implement cyber-security vulnerabilities.Manage application support globally, ensuring support queries from business users are dealt with swiftly and effectively.Maintain release management schedules with all code review changes across all projects within IT.Develop procedures and tools for reacting to common issues and problems that arise. Maintain and manage support of production components and look to automate redundant processes. Monitor the performance of production application and database servers. Evaluate issues when they arise and take corrective action.Deliver trade floor support services to equity and fixed income traders that includes market data applications (e.g. Bloomberg), vendor trading platforms (e.g. ION, Fidessa) and in-house front office applications.Qualifications5+ years of professional experience, preferably with experience in the financial services industryGood knowledge of PythonHands on application support experience, preferably working with technologies such as Splunk, Powershell, scripting, Ansible, Windows & Linux.The right individual will have experience within financial services and understand the business criticality of a production environment for sales and trading.Job SummaryCareer Category: Information TechnologyiCIMS ID: 2023-14382Corporate Title: VPType: Fulltime-Regular (Exempt/Non-Exempt)
