Advanced Resource Technologies, Inc. (ARTI) is currently recruiting for an Application Systems Analyst in support of a contract at our Oak Ridge, TN location. Position is part-time and on call. Start date is immediate with two weeks' notice to employer.SUMMARYThe Application Systems Analyst designs,creates, tests, maintains, and supports computer programs required to solve business problems in accordance with software development standards in a large full software life cycle, network based, multi-user applications development environment. The Analyst will work on development projects that will involve designing a basic Oracle database, using PL/SQL for stored procedures, and construction of the web application pages. Primary role is supporting the LEARN System project.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESCandidate will build Internet applications that comply with client specifications. Develops plans for automated information systems from project inception to conclusion.Analyzes user interfaces, maintains hardware and software performance tuning, analyzes workload and computer usage, maintains interfaces with outside systems, analyzes downtimes, and analyzes proposed system modifications, upgrades and new COTS software.Analyzes the problem and the information to be processed.Defines the problem and develops system requirements and program specifications, from which programmers prepare detailed flow charts, programs and test.Coordinates closely with programmers to ensure proper implementation of program and system specifications.Develops, in conjunction with functional users, system alternative solutions.Makes recommendations for future enhancements to the application.JOB REQUIREMENTSA Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related discipline desired and a minimum of 4 years' experience, of which at least 3 years must be specialized. IT Certifications may be substituted for education.Must be able to conduct requirements analysis and present the client needs through flowcharts and understand the necessary steps toward building client applications using Cold Fusion, Cold Fusion MX, Java, ASP and Visual Basic.Specialized experience includes the analysis and design of business applications on complex systems for large-scale computers. Must also include 2 years' experience in web-related development utilizing ASP, Cold Fusion, SQL, Java, or XML.Knowledge of current storage and retrieval methods desired.1 year of systems analysis experience designing technical applications on computer systems and demonstrated ability to formulate specifications for computer programmers to use in coding, testing, and debugging of computer programs.General experience includes increased responsibilities in information systems design and management.Ability to effectively interact with personnel at all levels in a dynamic work environment is required.Must have strong oral and written communications skills.Must be able to work independently and in a team environment on requirements that are moderately complex to analyze, plan, program, and implement.Necessary development skills: working knowledge of Oracle 11 and PL/SQL for OAS and SCORM.Required skills: hands-on experience with Cold Fusion/Cold Fusion MX, Office 2000 applications.The above information has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees in this classification.
