Position Summary The Application Engineers provide technical support for all Banner products. They collaborate with the outside sales teams to create custom solutions for our customers. Be a part of a cohesive team of experts striving to strengthen our relationships with our customers. This position reports to the Applications Engineering Manager. What You'll Be Doing
- Providing technical consultation and product support service to Banner Area Sales Managers, Field Sales Representatives, distributors, and customers.
- Managing multiple priorities including incoming phone calls, emails, chats and responding to direct sales team member communications.
- Collaborating with Engineering staff to develop technical modifications to existing products to meet unique application requirements.
- Conducting in house tests to solve real-life customer applications.
- Assisting with product training for internal and external audiences, both in-person and remotely.
- Supporting the sales regions with tasks such as vetting and processing, product returns with technical issues (RMA) requests, price, and availability.
- Utilizing the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software to input and maintain complete, accurate, and timely entries of technical summaries, customer information, and sales opportunities for all cases worked.
- Providing timely follow-up as needed to Banner Area Sales Managers, Field Sales Representatives, distributors, and customers.
- Serving as production application expert for sales and interdisciplinary projects

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics or related field.
- 2 years or more experience in an application engineering and/or application sales position
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Ability to travel domestically to attend trade shows or visit customer locations as needed.
- Strong desire to understand how things work.
Preferred
- Experience working with industrial automation protocols (Ethernet IP, Modbus TCP, or Modbus RTU, etc)
- Customer service experience a plus
