Applications Engineering Manager
Job Summary
The Applications Engineering Manager will lead a team of Application Engineers in supporting sales and delivering solutions to clients with complex operational and material handling challenges. This role requires a strong technical background, leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of Application Engineers, providing guidance, training, and development opportunities.
- Collaborate with sales teams to understand client needs and develop solutions that meet those needs.
- Oversee the development of proposals, including engineering, RFP development, supplier qualification, and estimation processes.
- Ensure that all proposals and solutions meet the company's technical and quality standards.
- Manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, applying this knowledge to improve solutions and services.
- Participate in business development activities, including identifying new business opportunities and developing strategies to pursue them.
Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in the material handling industry with at least 5 years on the pre-sales side.
- Strong technical background in mechanical engineering, controls, and warehouse execution software systems.
- Extensive knowledge of warehouse and distribution center operations.
- Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical problems and develop creative solutions.
- Must be flexible and tolerant of changing priorities, must be very client centric
