Applications Engineering Manager

Job Summary

The Applications Engineering Manager will lead a team of Application Engineers in supporting sales and delivering solutions to clients with complex operational and material handling challenges. This role requires a strong technical background, leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of Application Engineers, providing guidance, training, and development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to understand client needs and develop solutions that meet those needs.
  • Oversee the development of proposals, including engineering, RFP development, supplier qualification, and estimation processes.
  • Ensure that all proposals and solutions meet the company's technical and quality standards.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, applying this knowledge to improve solutions and services.
  • Participate in business development activities, including identifying new business opportunities and developing strategies to pursue them.

Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in the material handling industry with at least 5 years on the pre-sales side.
  • Strong technical background in mechanical engineering, controls, and warehouse execution software systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of warehouse and distribution center operations.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical problems and develop creative solutions.
  • Must be flexible and tolerant of changing priorities, must be very client centric
