American Elevator Group (AEG) is hiring a first-year Apprentice for its New York City operations. Responsibilities:
* Help Class A and B Elevator Mechanics in routine and complex repairs.
* Independently perform tasks with minimal supervision while adhering to safety and performance standards.
* Prepare, organize, and handle all necessary equipment and materials for assignments.
* Disassemble, repair, and reassemble elevator parts and equipment as directed.
* Follow strict health and safety regulations to prevent accidents and injuries.
* Execute additional duties as allocated by management or senior mechanics.
Qualifications
* Must be currently enrolled in the Apprenticeship program through the IBEW Local 3 Union.
* High school diploma or equivalent educational credentials are mandatory.
* A minimum of 1+ years of experience in a mechanical role, preferably related to elevator systems.
* Basic mechanical skills, including the ability to comprehend job specifications and blueprints.
* Practical communication skills and a keen eye for detail are critical for success.
* Possession of a valid driver's license.
* Demonstrate the ability to follow established maintenance and testing protocols.
* Previous experience with on-site installation and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues is a plus.
* Familiarity with technical manuals and related documentation.

* Job includes working in confined spaces, heights, and around heavy machinery.
* Awareness and adherence to workplace safety measures to minimize the risks of electrical shocks, falls, and other injuries.
* Possible contact with hazardous materials or working conditions may be encountered.
Physical Demands:
* Capability to lift and maneuver heavy equipment.
* Skillful in handling tools and smaller parts.
