- HIS Apprentice position will begin once they have been approved to join the program by their District Manager and the HearAcademy Manager, and the Apprentice has applied for their trainee license.
- Over the 6-month Program, you will master Hearing Instrument Science. The curriculum covers everything from the auditory system & pathology, to hearing evaluation and hearing aid technology.
- Each week, you will be required to complete assignments, virtual lectures, quizzes/exams and gain experience observing & participating in client care with your sponsor(s).
- Your progress will be tracked daily and evaluated weekly by the HearAcademy Manager. You and the HearAcademy Manager will also meet with your sponsor and District Manager at the end of each Domain during a Reflection Week.
- To remain on the Program, you must be considered 'on-track' in the following areas: 1) attendance; 2) participation; 3) coursework; and, 4) examination. If considered 'off-track', you must meet further requirements to remain in the Program.
- You are required to attend the 1-week bootcamp during the Program. This bootcamp is essential to your development of practical skills and for you to contribute in clinics.
- You are required to dedicate at least 1 hour/day of study time outside of business hours.
- In addition to clinical work, you are required to contribute to your center team: 1) you will have responsibilities in alignment with your stage of learning; and, 2) assisting with the daily tasks as outlined by your District Manager.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Preferred, a history of excellent customer/client care for 2 years
- Preferred, a background in healthcare or a science degree
- Must demonstrate a history of career advancement and aptitude to learn, and
- Minimum 6 month years of experience
- Candidates and Sponsor must meet their specific State Laws and Regulations
