Shift/Schedule40 hours per week during the summer Monday Friday 7 am 2 pm.Weekend, holiday and on call work as needed.Candidate must be flexible to work different days, schedules, come in early or stay late, hours or overtime based on business needs.What Nuclear Pharmacy contributes to Cardinal HealthPharmacy Operations is responsible for the safe, efficient and effective coordination of Cardinal Health's pharmacy operations that service acute care hospitals, hospital retail customers, ambulatory care and alternate site facilities, oncology and cardiology practices as well as retail customers.Nuclear Pharmacy is responsible for providing radiopharmaceuticals and other drugs to medical care providers under highly regulated State and Federal guidelines; may also consult with or advise physicians and nuclear medicine technologists on the safe and efficacious use of radioactive drugs for diagnosis and therapy.This Apprentice, Nuclear Pharmacy will be trained as a nuclear pharmacy technician and eventually advancing to the skills and tasks of a pharmacist.ResponsibilitiesUnder immediate direction of a qualified licensed Nuclear Staff Pharmacist, the Nuclear Pharmacy Apprentice assists with basic high-tech pharmacy services by preparing, dispensing, and distributing quality radiopharmaceuticals according to the rules and regulations of the State Board of Pharmacy. This role has responsibility for:Assisting in preparing and dispensing radiopharmaceuticals in keeping with the prescription and Company, State and Federal regulationsAssisting in providing follow up service to the client or health care provider on an as needed basisAssisting in assaying medications to determine identity, purity and strengthAssisting in performing white blood cell labelingEntering data regarding daily elutions, kit preparations, and incoming inventory into computerVerifying physical inventory with computer recordsMaintaining lab equipment by performing checks and tests on a regular basisPerforming other duties as required to insure a safe and efficient pharmacy operationQualificationsEnrollment in an accredited school of pharmacyHigh school diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred2 - 4 years of experience preferredMust hold a valid driver's license and have a good driving recordMinimum of 18 years of age due to driving of company owned vehicleCustomer service skillsAbility to lift up to 75 poundsFlexibility to work various days, schedules and hours as neededWhat is expected of you and others at this levelApplies knowledge and company policies to complete a variety of tasksDemonstrates a working knowledge of jobs outside area of responsibilityMaintains appropriate licenses, training and certificationsWorks on assignments that are moderately difficult requiring judgment in resolving issuesMay assist in recommendation of processes on new assignmentsAdheres to all quality guidelinesWorks with limited supervision.
