Job Description:

The Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (JATC) for the Rochester Laborers, Local Union #435, will conduct a recruitment from June 5, 2024 through June 4, 2025 for 10 Skilled Construction Craft Laborer apprentices.Applications can be completed, in person only, at Local Union #435 JATC Union Hall, 754 Lexington Ave, Rochester NY 14609, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Monday through Friday, excluding legal holidays, during the recruitment period. No applications are to leave the premises. Additional information about becoming a member can be found at www.local435.com. All applications must be received by June 4, 2025.The Committee requires that applicants:Must be at least 18 years old. Must have a high school diploma or a high school equivalency diploma (such as TASC or GED). Must attest that they are physically able to do the work of a skilled construction craft laborer, which may require consistently lifting up to 50 pounds. Must pass a Non-Department of Transportation (DOT) drug screening, at the expense of the sponsor, after selection and prior to enrollment in apprenticeship. Must be willing to work outdoors and in a variety of weather conditions. Must be able to work in an environment with strong odors and loud noises. Must be legally able to work in the United States. Must possess a valid NYS drivers license in order to drive companys vehicle. Must have reliable transportation to and from various work locations and required classes at the approved classroom instruction locations.
