**Job Summary**
The Apprentice Trainer position is responsible for delivering both the classroom and onsite instructions for the Mastec Substation Apprentice Program. This role includes teaching essential courses like the ETD 10, 20 HR, First Aid and CPR, Fall Protection, Confined Space, Equipment Training, Rigging and Signaling, etc. This trainer will also use T&D PowerSkills, UKG lessons to make ensure apprentices fulfill their mandatory classroom training. This position also requires some traveling to jobsites as necessary for in person, virtual training, and E-Learning.
Responsibilities
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**
. Delivery of the Mastec Apprentice classroom training as needed.
. Documentation of Training
. Plan and organize lessons, ensuring they align with the Apprentice Program.
. Maintain accurate records, attendance, and adhering to program guidelines.
. Coordinate with management to keep the instruction up to date, incorporating any necessary changes or updates.
. Promote a culture of safety consciousness and ensure apprentices adhere to safety.
Qualifications
**Requirements:**
. Qualified to teach ETD 10-20HR courses, First Aid, CPR, Confined Space, Equipment Training, Fall Protection, Rigging, Signaling, etc.
. At least 2 years' experience in Substation, Transmission.
. Ability to travel as needed to various locations.
. Valid driver's license.
. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Teams, Word, Xcel.
. Excellent written and communication skills.
. Ability to think strategically and provide strong leadership.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
. OSHA 500, 510.
. Preferred candidates with expertise in electrical, Substation or Transmission experience.
. Equipment Trainers, Confined Space qualification.
**Physical Demands and Work Environment**
This job operates in a field environment. This role routinely requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, lifting in awkward positions, standing, and twisting. Also, working in inclement weather conditions, such as extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. This position is physically active, with lifting required. Must be able to bend and lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more or 20 inches or less, with the ability to judge distance and space relationships. Precise hand-eye coordination. Ability to identify and distinguish colors.
