Your Opportunity as an Apprentice Wrapper TechThe Apprentice Wrapper Tech is responsible for setting up wrapping machines for proper variety of product being produced, ensuring the proper code is being run and is in correct location and is legible, completing code verification, seal integrity, packaging verification and lot tracking sheets at specified times and notifying supervision when any check is not in compliance with company standards.
Location: 2035 N Narragansett Ave, Chicago, IL 60639 (Hostess Manufacturing Plant)
Work Arrangements: 100% on-site, 3rd shift 10pm - 6:30am Flexibility required.
Compensation Base Rate: $27.17/hr - $33.64/hr
In this Role You Will: - Troubleshoot and address electrical and mechanical issues
- Perform preventive maintenance
- Assist with re-wraps and break operators as necessary
- Communicate all changes at the time they are made and at shift change
- Complete daily log sheets and distributes to supervision at the end of the shift
- Ensure that all work activities are performed with attention to the highest standards of food quality, safe processes, compliance with all appropriate legal requirements and a focus on continuous process improvement
- Maintain current and complete records of all activities (i.e., PM's, safety, inventory, asset inventory, parts tags, etc.)
- Keep work area and machines clean
- Understand Hostess scheduling for efficiency, ingredient and product flow, and distribution
- Perform other duties as assigned

What We are Looking For: Minimum Requirements: - 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 1-3 years of industrial maintenance experience
- Ability to trouble shooting equipment to ensure optimum efficiency and product quality
- Effective Oral and Written Communication
- Personal Computer Skills - Literate with MS Excel, Word.
Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role: - High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Understanding of commercial bakeries and bakery equipment preferred
- Previous experience working on and troubleshooting high speed packaging and wrapping equipment strongly preferred.
- Experience in food manufacturing preferred
Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a manufacturing environment. The noise level in the work environment and manufacturing sites can be loud.
Physical Demands- The employee must have the ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, squat, bend, reach, push, pull, twist, crawl, climb stairs/ladders
- Be able to lift to a maximum of 50 pounds.
