General Summary:During the apprenticeship candidates will work directly with Registered Behavior Technicians, Board Certified Behavior Analysts, and clients 3 years of age - 21 years of age. There will be exposure to Behavior Intervention Plans, Treatment Integrities, and Applied Behavior Analysis practices. Supervisor's Title:Director of Center Based ServicesEssential Skills and Qualifications:
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Bachelor's degree or 4 years working with children.
- Adequate oral communication skills.
Essential Competencies:
- Maintaining confidentiality of clients and their families.
- Ability to meet deadlines and independently manage tasks.
- Knowledge and experience with assistive technology.
- Ability to accept and implement feedback.
Schedule Commitment:
- 6 Months
- 20 hours a week
- Available schedules:
- Monday - Friday
- 8 am - 12 pm
- 12 pm - 4 pm
- 8 am - 4 pm
Performance Expectations:Daily:
- Within sessions with clients:
- Assist in recording and graphing data for behavior reduction and skill acquisition programming.
- Implement skill acquisition and behavior reduction programming with clients.
- Collaboratively problem solve when new challenging behavior/issues come up during session.
- Convert appointments in central reach with appropriate data collection and session notes.
Weekly:
- Attend and participate in weekly all staff meetings (If applicable with schedule agreement).
- Communicate with supervisor on any concerns with treatment goals, challenging behavior, and/or issues with families*.
- Issues to arise may include scheduling, treatment concerns, new challenging behavior.
- Assisting in making materials for instructional and treatment programs.
Bi-Weekly:
- Attend and participate in clinical meetings for Center-based staff.
- Participates in initial and follow-up training in applied behavior analysis methodology.
Monthly:
- Meet with designated BCBA mentor.
- Completes necessary training to demonstrate the knowledge of behavioral principles and instructional strategies. This includes implementation of complex curriculum and behavior plans, data collection, and analysis.
- Attends and participates in all training days for center-based staff.
Physical Requirements of the Job:
- Able to do the following for extended periods of time:
- Sit
- kneel on floor

- Able to respond to crisis situations across numerous groups.
- Able to do frequent bending to accommodate and assist children.
- Able to lift 50+ Pounds.
- Able to move quickly and keep up with running teenagers/young adults.
